FAQs

What is in the GlossPro product?

All GlossPro products are made with environmentally safe biodegradable ingredients and purified water. The main ingredient in many of our products is Carnauba Wax, an extract sustainably harvested from the leaves of a palm plant in northeastern Brazil. Even our emulsifiers and surfactants are natural.

How much does it cost?

Our 50 oz. Two-in-One Wash&Wax (retail $17.95) will wash a family-sized sedan about ten times, depending on the amount of dirt that is being removed. That comes to $1.79 per wash. With our Half-Gallon Concentrate of GlossPro Wash&Wax, you should be able to wash your car 25 times or more. That comes to $0.65 per wash! And the GlossPro Wash&Wax Full Gallon Concentrate brings the cost down even more--about $0.50 per wash. And you can't get a better wash--anywhere!

How does it work?

Spray the GlossPro Two-in-One Waterless Wash&Wax onto the surface of your car. Look closely. You will see how our biodegradable solution dissolves and lifts the dirt and grime right up from the surface of your car. Now gently wipe away the grime with a MicroFiber cloth. Look again. You'll see no scratches! This is because dirt combined with our biodegradable GlossPro solution will cling to the Microfiber Cloth, not your car. When you wipe the GlossPro Wash&Wax away, a thin film of Carnauba Wax is left behind that you may now buff in with a clean Microfiber cloth. Your car will shine like it did in the showroom. Carnauba Wax, one of GlossPro's natural ingredients, is preferred by serious car enthusiasts worldwide to help protect the surface of their fine automobiles.

How much time does it take?

Depending on the size of your vehicle and how dirty it is, it will usually take around 15-20 minutes. (Consider that when you go to the car wash, you rarely get out in less than fifteen minutes.) Because the process leaves a protective coating of Carnauba Wax, successive washes become easier and quicker. The more you use GlossPro Wash&Wax, the better your car will look!

What is GlossPro Two-in-One Waterless Wash&Wax?

We call it the GlossPro Two-in-One Wash&Wax, because it is just that. With our product you clean your car while simultaneously giving it that lustrous wax shine you'd expect to see from a professional car manicure. And our product is waterless. That means you use only GlossPro. No hoses, no buckets, no sponges, and you use no additional water! This means you won't be pouring 75+gallons of water down the drain. So, you're doing something good for the environment...And you've got a car with a showroom shine!

Does it wear or abrade the paint on my car?

Every method of washing your car has the potential of bringing foreign material into contact with its surface, and thus has the potential to wear on the paint. An automatic brush car wash uses both brushes or "slap-rags" along with abrasive detergents to clean your car. There are “brushless” or “touchless” car washes. But, to make up for the non-use of brushes or rags, a more aggressive detergent must be used, which usually contains abrasive chemicals such as soda ash. Most automatic car washes also use high-pressure water spray systems which causes both abrasion and erosion to your car's paint.

Even hand washing your car with a cloth and soapy water can be abrasive on your paint and could, in time, remove its protective finish. The GlossPro Two-in-One Car Wash process, on the other hand, incorporates the lubricity of Carnauba Wax with the gentleness of our MicroFiber cloths to provide the least abrasive method for cleaning your car possible. The GlossPro Two-in-One Wash&Wax releases a protective coating of Carnauba Wax that, upon buffing, will protect your car's surface between washes, allowing dirt to be removed easier each time it is washed.

Are there times when GlossPro Car Wash is not the best choice for my vehicle?

If your car becomes caked with mud, snow, sand or salt, it is best to remove the major dirt first with water. Once the caked-on grime has been removed apply GlossPro Two-in-One Waterless Wash&Wax as directed. For people in the snowbelt, GlossPro Two-in-One Wash&Wax is still your best option once major grime has been removed. We estimate that the GlossPro Car Wash is appropriate for about 90% of the car washes that occur in the US.

What is Carnauba Wax and why is it so important?

Carnauba comes from the leaves of a palm plant native to northeastern Brazil. It is sometimes referred to as "queen of waxes” because of its seemingly unlimited versatility. Carnauba wax is hypoallergenic, acts as an emollient and will produce a high-gloss finish when polished. Because of this, it is an ideal product for automobile waxes, but can also be found in floor and furniture polishes, shoe polishes, dental floss, ski and surfboard waxes, and even certain candies. It was once used to form a external coating on speedboat hulls in order to enhance speed while aiding the handling in salt water environments.

We at GlossPro feel Carnauba wax is by far the gentlest and most effective car protectant available.

Are the products and the wash process environmentally friendly?

The safe, biodegradable, GlossPro Two-in-One Waterless Car Wash&Wax is one of the most environmentally responsible actions that you can take. Please consider the following:

  • A typical car wash (automatic or at home) can easily use 75 gallons of water per wash. If you wash your car once per week, you will use over 4,000 gallons of water per year. Multiply your 4,000 gallons by the 250 million passenger vehicles in the US, and we could save nearly a trillion gallons of water per year! Clearly not everyone washes her or his car once per week, but this gives you an idea of how much water converting to an environmentally friendly cleaning process can save!
  • Traditional car wash methods use detergents, phosphates, and other chemicals that frequently end up in the storm sewer, sanitary sewer, or our waterways. GlossPro, on the other hand, is 100% biodegradable.
  • The primary material for the GlossPro Car Wash product is Carnauba Wax, a natural ingredient, which is responsibly harvested from the Carnauba Palm in the northeast region of Brazil. Carnauba wax is a common ingredient in many natural cosmetics, food products, and vitamins. It is safe for the environment and safe for humans.
  • Automatic car washes have idling cars. It seems to go along with the territory. Think of this: A car idling for ten minutes in a typical automatic car wash produces over a half pound of CO2. Convert that to 250 million cars per week! With GlossPro, you wash and wax your car at your leisure at  your home or with your favorite professional detailer, but you will never have to have  your car idling while you work.
